Ear Nose and Throat
Ear, nose, and throat prescriptions can be compounded into a specific formulation that fits the patient’s needs. These dosage forms will act directly at the site of infection while also reducing the amount of side effects associated with oral medications.
Below are some common formulations offered by our pharmacy:
Nasal Infection
Gentamicin/Mupirocin in normal saline
For nasal irrigation in an irrigation device of the patient's preference such as a syringe or squeeze bottle
Ear Infection
Ciprofloxacin/Clotrimazole/Dexamethasone/Boric acid
This compound uses an accordian insufflator to deliver the combined powders directly into the ear canal
Magic Mouthwash
Nystatin/Maalox/lidocaine
This solution is useful in treating mouth sores that sometimes make swallowing, eating, or speaking painful for the patient. Magic mouthwash uses a combination of ingredients to provide immediate pain relief while also protecting the oral mucosa from bacterial or fungal infections.
