Nasal Infection

Gentamicin/Mupirocin in normal saline

For nasal irrigation in an irrigation device of the patient's preference such as a syringe or squeeze bottle

Ciprofloxacin/Clotrimazole/Dexamethasone/Boric acid

This compound uses an accordian insufflator to deliver the combined powders directly into the ear canal

Magic Mouthwash

Nystatin/Maalox/lidocaine

This solution is useful in treating mouth sores that sometimes make swallowing, eating, or speaking painful for the patient. Magic mouthwash uses a combination of ingredients to provide immediate pain relief while also protecting the oral mucosa from bacterial or fungal infections.

Some commonly prescribed ingredients in Magic Mouthwash:

Nystatin: Antifungal

Maalox: Antacid used for coating the mouth with all the ingredients

Lidocaine: Numbing agent

Hydrocortisone: Anti-inflammatory

Diphenhydramine: Antihistamine used as a local anesthetic

Tetracycline: Broad spectrum antibiotic
