Common Uses:

Sildenafil is used in dogs and cats for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Pulmonary hypertension is characterized by increased blood pressure in the arteries within the lungs, causing the heart to work harder. Sildenafil relaxes the smooth muscles around the blood vessels, resulting in vasodilation, increased blood flow, and decreased cardiac workload

Amlodipine

Medication Class:

Calcium channel blocker

Common Uses:

Amlodipine is commonly used to treat high blood pressure as monotherapy or adjunct to other antihypertensive medications. This medication has a slow onset of action and therefore has less incidence of hypotension. Amlodipine can be given without consideration for food.
